There
are a number of things that we need to be mindful of in prayer during the
summer and autumn. Please include these
in your own prayers during that time.
§ For the Benefice and each parish as documentation
is drawn up and the search for a new incumbent starts; for the process and for
wisdom and insight into the preparation of the material; for the person whom
God is already calling and preparing to come and work in the Benefice
§ For each
of us as we consider our role as stewards of the gifts God has given us. In
particular that the parishes might have the financial resources to meet our
increased parish share commitments in a difficult economic climate.
§ That
gifted people will respond to God’s call and consider training as Lay Ministers
on the new course being offered in the deanery in the autumn.
§ For Rev
Murray Harvey and family as they start a new life in the parish of Clayfield,
Brisbane.
Other important points to remember in your prayers:
For our Assistant Curate, Rev Dr
Lynda Pugh as she grows into her priestly ministry
For Nicki Bland
(Lay Reader) as she commences ordination training
Pray for those training as Parish Lay Ministers through
the Parish Foundation course
Pray for visitors to our churches and to other premises such as church halls:
for new people to the area, for tourists and migrant workers, those coming to
research family history, for local people using the churches and other
premises: pray that they may find there a gracious welcome and a knowledge of
God's presence
Offer to God the work of our
house groups, praying for leaders, hosts and group members
Give thanks for recent working together with the Gosberton Group of Parishes
since we have formed together in what is known as the Glen Cluster
Give thanks for the ministry of Clergy, Readers, and Local Ministers licensed
and authorised to minister in the benefice
Pray for the work of the mission agencies supported by the parishes: The
Leprosy Mission and Christian Aid
