Vision and Values

As a group of churches we’ve identified a set of values and a vision that is already shaping our discipleship and which will guide our priorities for the future.

Loved by God

God’s love meets us in grace. We want to celebrate God’s love and forgiveness in our lives and tell others about it.

Friendly and welcoming

We value Christian fellowship, companionship and hospitality. Each church intentionally seeks to nurture a sense of belonging by providing a welcoming environment for visitors, newcomers and regular worshippers.

Learning about the faith and sharing it

God wants us to ‘give a reason for the hope we have’. We want our lives to be shaped by relevant biblical teaching in worship and small groups and we want to proclaim the Good News in deed and word in the community.

Service to God and the community

God calls us to serve. We take seriously the biblical call to serve God and those around us and to accept all people as made in his image and redeemed by Jesus Christ. We are especially concerned to reach the emerging generation of children and young people. We want to respond to the goodwill and generosity of the people in our three villages by loving service.

Diversity

We welcome and celebrate different expressions of worship and Christian witness both within the group and beyond. We respect the local traditions of each church but recognise that group worship can be inspiring and provides an opportunity to experience new expressions of worship.

Teamwork and collaboration

God gives us gifts and calls us to minister. Gifts in each individual and community are there to be expressed and shared. We value one another’s gifts.

Church buildings

Our churches are associated with key times in people’s lives and are sacred spaces where people can meet God. Hence our church buildings are historic and spiritual resources for the villages. We want to make them available for people to appreciate and use.
