Theme for Today: Prepare for risk

Welcome! Those of us who worship and minister in the three churches of The Glen Group pray that your visit will have brought you closer to the God whom we have learned to love and serve. A children’s corner has been set-aside in each of our churches for children to sit and play. At Communion, please bring the children forward for a blessing and a sticker. We invite all who are confirmed or full members of any Christian church to share in Communion.

Reflection on today’s readings

The crowds are following Jesus but do they really know what they are letting themselves in for?  Jesus tells a story to describe the risks of discipleship and invites us to choose whether we want to be part of the adventure of faith.

For your prayers this week

Please also use the prayer points on the website www.glengroup.org.uk

§        In the cycle of prayer we pray for the Diocese of Bath and Wells, Rt Rev Peter Price and the clergy and people

§        We pray for Paige Scallan and Archie Gray to be baptised today at Surfleet

§        We pray for people in their daily life and work: judges, magistrates and court staff

§        We give thanks for the lives of the departed: Jack Birbeck

Gift Aid  We hope that anyone who pays tax will use one of the Gift Aid envelopes for any donations to the church. Be sure to write your name and address on the envelope. We can claim from the Inland Revenue 28p for every £1 given (that’s £2.80 for every £10) – at no cost to the donor! If you cannot see an envelope please ask for one.
