Our Patron Saint

Nativity Window PanelThe Parish Church of Pinchbeck St Mary is named in honour of Mary the mother of Jesus, commemorated here in a stained glass panel of the Nativity Window in the north aisle of the church building. The lily sprouting from Joseph's staff is a symbol of purity.

Mary is remembered throughout the Anglican church year in a number of feasts and festivals, but her significance is best suggested in the Collect for her own feast day on August 15th.

Almighty God,
who looked upon the lowliness
of the Blessed Virgin Mary
and chose her to be
the mother of your only Son:
grant that we who are redeemed by his blood
may share with her
in the glory of his eternal kingdom;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord
who is alive and reigns with you
in the unity of the Holy Spirit
one God, now and forever. Amen.
